Attorney Jessica A. Cowan was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Florida State University where she gained early legal experience assisting Attorney Frederick M. Conrad on a variety of criminal defense matters.
Following her undergraduate studies, Jessica returned home and spent over four years with Jorgensen/Gibbons, P.A, a firm dedicated to personal injury and workers’ compensation. There, she developed a passion for helping injured clients navigate the challenges of the legal process- a passion that ultimately shaped her career path.
Jessica went on to attend Stetson University College of Law. While earning her Juris Doctor with a concentration in Advocacy, she clerked for an intellectual property firm, earned multiple Highest-Grade Awards, and served as Secretary of the Cardozo Inn Chapter of the Phi Delta Phi International Honor Society. In her final year, Jessica served as a Certified Legal Intern with the Public Defender’s Office for Florida’s Sixth Judicial Circuit, where she gained meaningful courtroom experience defending individuals charged with misdemeanor offenses.
Jessica always knew she wanted to transition back to civil practice and in September of 2025, she joined Swift Law PLLC as an Associate Attorney. Jessica will focus on both personal injury matters such as motor vehicle accidents and slip-and-falls; and consumer protection litigation, representing individuals harmed by unlawful debt collection practices and inaccurate credit reporting. Jessica is committed to advocating for individuals faced with the prospects of going up against big insurance companies and corporations.
Outside of the office, Jessica enjoys spending time at the beach, boating, traveling, and snowboarding.
